Crafting for an amazing cause!
Hello my name is Gianna Seca!
I began creating jewellery in 2012 when a friend had asked me if I could create a design to raise money for her SickKids Hospital event. I was pleasantly surprised when my bracelet raised a great deal of money! Inspired by the success of the first bracelet, I made more and continued to sell them to raise money for the hospital! I started working with the Bravery Bead Program at SickKids after a friend’s child lost his battle after many operations. His mother treasures the bravery bead necklace that her son earned. This program is run totally by volunteers and every time a child has a procedure they earn a bravery bead. I have spoken to many adults who still have their bravery bead necklaces and they look at this necklace as a badge of honour. I decided to become a fundraiser for this department; I am a registered donor and a portion of my profits are directly donated to this amazing program!
My jewelry is my art! I have three collections using three types of materials:
– I work with genuine Murano glass that supports a small Italian family business on the Isle of Murano.
– The second material that I’m authorized to use are Crystals for Swarovski. I was a co-branded second level designer from 2012 to 2014.
– The third material I use which I currently sell at the Junction Arts Market is natural gemstones.
All my designs use superior quality precious metals like Sterling Silver and 14 Karat Gold filled. I only create one-of-a-kind or limited edition jewelry.
